Church Tower

Whitestone Bell Ringers

Usually, we practise most Thursday evenings at St Catherine’s Church Tower from 7:30 to 9:00 pm with the first 30 minutes reserved for beginners.
To confirm that we are practising on a particular Thursday, please telephone James Bryant on 01392 811391.

REMEMBRANCE DAY BELL RINGING ON ARMISTICE SUNDAY 11TH NOVEMBER

The church bells at St Catherine’s will be rung three times on Sunday 11th November. The first occasion will be half muffled before the 10.55 am service at St. Catherine’s Church.

The second round of ringing will be in conjunction with the Church Service. This will also be half muffled in memory of all those who gave their lives.

An open peal will be rung at 12.30 to celebrate the end of the First World War. Over 1400 bell ringers died in service during the First World War and under regulations introduced under the Defence of the Realm Act, church bells were restricted from being rung throughout the conflict.
