We meet in the Whitestone Parish Hall on Thursday Evenings, normally 8.00 to 9.30pm.
We really need more men and low ladies. (Make of this what you will !!!)
We would love anyone interested to try us out. We are very friendly and the conductor is not at all intimidating.
Reading music is not a requirement. In fact, it is sometimes a drawback.

”AN EVENING OF MUSIC“ WHITESTONE PARISH HALL October 15th 2016
A packed Parish Hall experienced a delightful evening of music in aid of
the Parish Hall Piano Refurbishment Fund. Dr. Jane Richards, Chairman of the
Parish Hall committee, introduced the proceedings and explained how the Hall
was the centre of Whitestone’s community and the piano an important part of
the hall. Several groups in the village had contributed to the Fund and it was
hoped that further work on the case would complete the refurbishment.
Gene Alford and Ron Bramhall, The Ivory Players, performed the inaugural set,
playing two pieces from Dolly Suite by Faure.
Village Voices followed this with a range of music from Mozart to the Beatles.
Guests, Prue Tasman (bassoon) and Carol Galton (piano), completed the first half
with music by French and Spanish composers.
After the interval there were two more sets from Village Voices and the Boismortier
Trio, where Carol and Prue were joined by Liz Watkins on oboe. Finally they all
joined forces for the Finale from Les Miserables.
Thanks to everyone involved, and all those that attended. This enjoyable evening
raised an amazing £632 which should complete the piano’s upgrade. A true reflection
of the power of community!
If you are thinking of joining us, now is the time to come. We meet in the Parish Hall at 8.00pm on most Thursdays.
