Village sign, flowers and village shelter − Just to offer a sincere thank-you to those parishioners who have kept the village stone sign flowers watered and looking so lovely and to those who have tidied up and planted and watered those by the sign on the Tedburn side of the village. Thanks also to those who cleaned out and tidied the village shelter before the ‘drop-in’ day − it was very much appreciated.
Parish Plan Drop In Day − Thanks to all who attended the Parish Plan ‘Drop in’ Day on Saturday 14th July. We are particularly grateful to those parishioners who have indicated their interest in taking actions forward. The lovely homemade cakes were appreciated by all and the organisers would like to thank those who took time out of a busy Saturday to help us with refreshments,
60. Cllr Hickman then opened the meeting which has been called to discuss planning applications that require a response to Teignbridge District Council within a 21 days deadline. The applications/plans were examined and discussion took place with the following observations
60.1 18/01435/NPA Application for Prior Approval under Schedule 2, Part 3 Class P of the GDPO for change of use of a storage or distribution building (Class B8) to a dwelling at Unit I, Rebecca Springs
18/01436/NPA Application for Prior Approval under Schedule 2, Part 3 Class P of the GDPO for change of use of a storage or distribution building (Class B8) to a dwelling at Unit 4, Rebecca Springs
• Both of these applications were discussed together and were supported. There was however concern in view of the size and scale of the developments regarding visibility from the site for vehicles accessing the road which has high volumes of traffic to surrounding villages and into Exeter.60.2 18/01274/FUL Alterations and extension to pole barn and change of use to office (Use Class B1) store/workshop at Hurston Farm.
• This application was not supported due to confusion and inconsistency in the application details specifically whether or not it is for agricultural purposes (section 3) or as a builders workshop as indicated in section 22.
